Day trip to Hornsea, we’d already had a really nice day, spotted Dolphins off the coast (though no photos), towards the end of the day we stepped over a groyne at low tide, and this seal pup was just coming out of the water. Instead of turning and scarpering it came right up to our feet. We stepped back to give it some space, so it just came right up to us again, though for some reason attempts to walk to the water didn’t have the same effect. So I spent a few minutes taking some photos whilst someone we bumped into at the same time with better 4G found the number of the local marine rescue. It turns out if healthy then the best approach is just to leave them be.
For the tech geeks, Canon R6 with the RF100-400mm at all of 118mm. The two headshots that follow are the only shots where I pushed it nearer to 300mm.
